Noosa Chorale

Noosa Chorale

Noosa Chorale was founded in 1994 by our patron, Joseph McMahon, who invited Leonard Spira to direct the fledgling 20 member choir. Since then, the Chorale has grown to a choir of 70 singers. The Chorale, under the musical direction of Adrian King since 2007, gives three performances a year. Two performances feature major classical choral works performed with orchestras. The third performance is a Christmas ‘Wassail’ called ‘Christmas Cheer’, when the Chorale sings Australian and traditional carols in a fun filled and festive cabaret style event.
The Chorale is community choir and enjoys singing at community events such as the lighting of the Xmas Tree at Hastings St and Australia Day celebrations. It also is willing to sing to help people raise funds such as the Flood Relief Concert in Nambour in 2011.
The Chorale helps to promote choral singing across the Sunshine Coast through its membership of the Sunshine Coast Choral Festival where it joins with other choirs and singing groups to sing in a special annual concert in May.
