MUSICOLOGY: Saturday 2  - 5 PM

Long time collector of tunes from the  1960's through to present day, I am always looking for the next emerging artist across a wide spectrum of genres and styles. For me the vocal and lyrics are the focus, looking for character and originality. I am finding that the more mellow side of my collection gets the most airplay though I still love edgy rock and blues when in the right mood.

My show 'Musicology' ranges through a diverse and select collection of tunes across the years and genres mixing up folk, jazz, reggae, rock, blues, soul and pop. The focus tends to be contemporary and international, but home grown talent and blasts from the past always gets some airplay as do good cover versions. I am a huge fan of the Byron Bay Bluesfest with many past and present performers on my playlist.

Hi Mick, I'm actually search for a song that you might have played sometime between 2 and 2:30 last Saturday 16th December. The following are the only clues I have...

Mellow bluesy/country style
Very catchy guitar main riff that also appears to be the main focus in the chorus and is repeated often
Male voice is quite low, almost spoken - similar to Johnnie Cash
Fairly big/modern sounding production

Any help would be great!
Dave

Hi Dave,

The song was probably singer songwriter Cal Williams Jnr from Adelaide with “I can’t get well no more”

Hi Mick, love your show, listen every week. Could you help Kevin get the word out, cheers Miki

Could you please help get the word out to your listeners, it’s exciting & unique!

I’m performing at The Winter Blues Drive In” Concert, remember drive in movies, we’ll I do back it the day
but the concept is proving to be very adaptable for the situation we are in regarding the social distancing rules we are under.

So at the Maleny Show Grounds July 18th starting at 5pm.

Instead of a Movie, there will be live performances up on the screen, and the music will come through your car radio.

Or, if you prefer to be in the concert space venue, you can book tickets to be in there.

4 bands performing - Accidentally on Purpose - The Spirit Blues Band - Vix & the Slick Chix - and The Kevin Borich Express

Please help us let our communities know about this, I’m sure everyone will be interested in participating in this extraordinary

event if they knew it was happening!

Thank You Cheers kevin
