Last Sunday's Paddle in Pink was a fun event on water, around Noosa Sound to raise awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
A sea of pink on Noosa's waterways with paddle craft including stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, outriggers or any craft being manually paddled or rowed.
This event wasn't a race, but was fun for all the family and friends with great prizes for those best dressed in pink. Groups where divided into categories and local celebrities will participate and encourage all participants.
On the day Noosa Heads Lions Club cooked up breakfast delights and coffee as well as major prizes which included a stand-up paddle board package from BiC SUP.
There was also an aerial flypast from the Ultimate Thrill Ride in their Extra 300 Red Bull type aircraft.
Lachlan Stevens from Boardwalk Boat Hire (located Riverside Jetty of the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort) was the event organiser. Boardwalk Boat Hire currently provides complimentary therapeutic recreation in the form of kayak and SUP paddling for breast cancer patients/survivors on Wednesdays at 7.30am (excepting school holidays).
Participants completed more than one lap of Noosa Sound, starting from Noosa Woods clockwise past Lions Park and around Noosa Sound, finishing at Lions Park.
