Saturday Lunch Time: Saturday 12 pm - 2 pm

"Eat With A Beat".

I blame my mother who couldn't cook and growing up in the melting pot of Sydney for my love of food and all things gourmet.
Once I discovered herbs and flavour there really was no stopping me.

37 countries and a few decades later i've landed in the great Dinning room at Noosa FM.

Join me for "Eat With The Beat" every Saturday from 12 pm where we can enjoy a sample of life's great feast.

TUESDAY DRIVE: Tuesday 4 pm - 6 pm

Jazz has called the Sunny Coast his home for almost over 10 years, moving up with his family from the Northern Beaches of Sydney when he was in primary school.  Ever since, he developed an immense passion for music, beginning with learning the drums.  Whether playing on the opera house stage, in a pit orchestra, or in the studio… Jazz has loved every second of it!

At 17 years old, he is currently finishing his final year of school, making him the youngest presenter at NOOSA FM.

This is Jazz’s first year at Noosa FM, and he has a lot planned!  His current Program, “Young Blood”, explores Australia’s young musicians & what they listen to.  Specifically promoting the unheard local (often school-age) talent the sunshine coast has to offer.

He provides an insight into the sounds of the future.

ODORAMA: Wednesday 8 pm - 10 pm
UNCLE STANLY'S SUNDAY BLOOMERS: Sunday 8 pm - 10 pm

Raised in country towns, schooled in institutions best known for headlines in Royal Commissions, employed in far too many professions and for an array of unfortunately haunting employers, I'm often trying to remember if my various stints as a keyboard-playing arranger/musicologist/musician might offer some perceive relevant to the development of radio playlists. The jury's still out.

I like a good tune, an interesting rhythm, wonder what might have happened to Western music if J.S. Bach had been introduced to African music, but still manage to find something to like about a diverse lot of music in each of the world's six continents.

As the barriers between genres of music grow more transparent and musicians (and composers and producers) moving between and conjoin styles, I'm especially enamored of music that betrays its initial provenance to embrace the costume, manners, and sensibilities of far-flung relatives and in-laws. I like the multi-generational, multi-cultural, multi-taxonomic, miscellaneous approach to musical scripts.

They say that everything that rises must converge. So I knit beanies and wait for a sign.

THE GOOD NEWS: Tuesday 6 pm - 8 pm

I joined the station back in 2006 a year before we won Australia’s Best Community Radio Station. It was an exciting time of moving to the flash new premises at the J in Noosa Junction and lots was happening. I ran drive time and Brekky shows with a variety of co-hosts such trying out some innovative platforms such as Backpacker radio where I would gather a raggedy bunch of international travelers from the nearby hostel and drag them all into the studio to talk about their Noosa experience and play some of their favourite music from back home.

Variety is most definitely more than just the spice of my life, it IS my life, with over eighty different careers in my portfolio so far (I’m aiming for one hundred and one) and I believe in spreading that joy. This leaps out, hopefully, in the eclectic breadth of my musical tastes which I will rejoice in sharing with listeners in the new show “The Good News” on Tuesday nights.

Having travelled the myriad highways and backwaters of this epic land for many years I chose Noosa as the perfect place to raise a family and settle in my home at the beloved Lake Cooroibah.

In the missing years between my radio stints I gained a degree in creative writing and held a few more great jobs for my growing employment history. The next one for that list is ‘Writer’ …at last – time to pursue my biggest dream of all.

THURSDAY BREAKFAST: Thursday 7 am - 9 am

Hi all, I grew up in Melbourne where I lived until I was about 28, when I took off to a Down to Earth festival on the Vic/NSW border and never went back.  I spent 15 years in Nimbin where I first discovered community radio as a work for the dole commitment, re-inventing new skills I could gain to be allowed to keep doing it. (yes for 15 years) I was a big part of getting them their permanent licence, as well as being on air and involved in production. Almost everything was CD’s and minidiscs back then. Oh, the stories I could tell; but won’t.

Fast forward to Noosa Community Radio (which it was called then), where I was first refused as a Centrelink participant, then got involved anyway, becoming a presenter, producer, trainer, vice-president, semi-techie, web master and mister fix-it man. Later I was a paid supervisor. I jumped in to the world of sound editing software with a lot of help from Sheng Yee, our techie at the time and Harry Miller, both enduring and selfless heroes to the station. I have a passion for local, social and political affairs and delight in finding songs with lyrics to fit my stories.

JAMMIN' WITH JETHRO: Saturday 4 pm - 6 pm.

'Jethro' loves his music and has quarantined some of best soul and funk from the 70’s and 80’s - that golden era of sound in the UK, USA and Australia.

But music, like everything else, re-invents itself, regenerates and morphs into forever changing genres and styles.

So, on his Saturday night show you can also 'pin your ears back' and catch contemporary dance, electronica, synth pop and lounge.

"But music is politics too….even Justin Bieber" (according to Rolling Stone magazine). So, also get a serve of 'Jethro’s Jawbone' - a weekly look at current affairs, topical issues, and the politics of sport.

Drawing on Jethro’s (long) career in journalism, government affairs and media (and living on three continents) there’s no lack of fodder to pick on.

THURSDAY BREAKFAST: Thursday 7 am - 9 am.

Grace grew up in mainstream society, living a conventional life until a car accident in her late teens changed everything. She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, had a Near Death Experience … and woke up with heightened psychic awareness. Ever since, she has been able to perceive, see, hear and speak to energies.

It took three years of rehabilitation before she could walk again, and a lot longer to learn how to drive her new, unconventional reality.

To make sense of it all, she started reading Dr. Wayne Dyer's books, which catalysed and clarified her new direction. She went on to discover and utilise the work of many other world renowned wayshowers, authors and spiritual teachers – mainly Eckhart Tolle, Abraham-Hicks, Bryon Katie, Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Doreen Virtue, Access, Gary Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer.

As a clairvoyant medium Grace has read for famous actors and politicians, and had an extraordinary experience with the Dalai Lama's official bowl players when they gifted her their Tibetan singing bowls, opening up a new direction creating soothing, therapeutic, meditative music, mesmerising many with her angelic voice.

She has also studied counselling and qualified as an expressive therapist.

She has been the wife of a senator, travelled the world, met many famous people and is related to Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland.

Grace has three children and has called the Sunshine Coast home for over 25 years.

She has reached a place where she is genuinely happy, positive and thriving after choosing a greater life and choosing it anew every day. She loves to inspire and encouraging others. It is her life's work.‘Wonderland’ is part of that calling.

THE RAP WITH BEAR: Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm

My career path has been long and varied from being an Automotive Engineer to a military bandsman in the armed services.

I relocated to Noosa from Melbourne in the mid 70's and apart from some time spent in the USA. I was also to later take up a job offer with KLONG FM in Long Beach California to promote the upcoming America’s Cup Challenge in Fremantle Western Australia. But that's another story.

During my time on the Sunshine Coast I established an entertainment and employment agency providing entertainment to various venues up and down the coast. This included the management of live bands, solo artists and also the establishment of a mobile disco service. These services evolved into a retail outlet providing musicians with their necessary requirements.

It was during that latter period (1984-85) that I became involved with local Sunshine Coast radio. First up with an album review and interview show on 4NA Nambour and then with 4GY Gympie. The takeover of 4GY by Westco Communications  led to the establishment of a studio and sales office in Noosa Junction to which I was appointed sales manager.

I also became involved with the Tourism Association which led to me  volunteering as a broadcaster with the local community radio 2CBD FM (Community Broadcast Deepwater (NSW), where for a short time take on the position of vice president which gained me a wealth of knowledge with regard to community radio stations.

In 2016 my wife and I moved back to Noosa where I joined the NOOSA FM team.

THE SUNSHINE REPUBLIC: Tuesday 6 pm - 8 pm

"And so where does this go again...?

'The Sunshine Republic' is people powered radio show broadcasting from iconic Noosa on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. You will hear diversity without division, from all points of the musical compass. Come and join me for a cruise through some of the well travelled musical highways and by-ways to an entertaining array of different destinations.

The Republic will take regular forays back to that often fondly referred too place that goes by the name of ‘By-gone Era’, or maybe head out west for a little Texas to Tamworth. How about a cruise into the southern realms of Jazz, The Blues, Bluegrass, Swamp or the dulcet tones of a contemporary ballad. Maybe some mystical rhythms from the enchanted east? And of course there’s our very own well travelled Aussie highways along with a few Alternative by-ways. We may even find ourselves listening to a little introspective Classical. As you will hear, we have your listening pleasure pretty well covered here on The Sunshine Republic.

So on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 8, why not tune in to 101.3 fm on your wireless for a couple of hours of musical diversity with a tad of chit-chat, where I attempt to convince you that I know lots of stuff about music.

THE CHILL ZONE: Sunday 6 pm - 8 pm

Hey there! Welcome to "The Chill Zone"! This is where you wind down for two hours, relax, and just chill, at the end of a big week! Nothing to do here but enjoy the music.

Hey, it must be 8pm so, put your feet up, and stay with me, while I spin some tunes. The music I play, has a great beat. A musical adventure across many genres: Trance, Celtic, Retro Rock or simply "feelgood" songs. And there will be the occasional funny or quirky, to mix it up.

Lovin local Sunshine Coast Groups, so you'll hear a fair bit of Reggae, Latin or funk, just the things that make us happy.

This is just for you. Your time and your place.

TUESDAY BREAKFAST: Tuesday 6 am - 9 am:

Mike & Megan Breid began presenting at NOOSA FM in October of 2014. They each had their own show – 'The Captain', Sailing Through the Years, and 'Nutmeg', Tonic for your Brain, for several programming blocks. The Programming committee then suggested that they join forces for a breakfast show and the rest – as they say – is history. M'n'Ms for Breakfast was born and the two found they really enjoy working together. So much so that they are now on to their second and current morning show, 'Breakfast with M'n'M'.

This show is an eclectic mix of music with commentary and a little bit of mayhem thrown in for good measure.

MONDAY MORNINGS WITH SCOTTY: Monday 9 am to Midday

"Firstly, I pay my respects to the First Nations people of this area, the Gubbi Gubbi people, and those across the country.

With regular guest Amma Reed on board, we will team up to feature singers, songwriters and musicians who call this country home. As keen advocates for Australian-based artists, particularly new and emerging performers, we like to find the songs and sounds which stimulate all the senses.

You'll hear a variety of alternative country, roots, folk and Indigenous music, sourced primarily from the extensive AMRAP Australian Music Radio Airplay Project artist lists and will aim to present to you music to enjoy, messages to inform and stories to inspire. No matter where you come from, whether you're a local, or you're visiting, thanks for listening.

All the best in mutual support of local artists."

ROCKING TIMES: Thursday 8 pm - 9 pm

Living on the Sunshine Coast for the past 6 years and currently in year 10 at Noosa District State High School, I'm actively involved with the Noosa School in-house radio network. I play lead and acoustic guitar.

Growing up in a musical family, music is a huge part of my life and my parents have encouraged and shown me the value and personal satisfaction of being involved with community radio.  My father came from a career in radio, firstly as a presenter with community radio then moving on a career in commercial radio as well as the ABC.

I'm proud to be taking on the role of Noosa Community Radio Youth Representative at NOOSA FM.  Recently I completed the community radio training course which I very much enjoyed and now I'm  looking forward to presenting my own radio ROCKIN TIMES show.
